series of integrated thin film (ITF) hybrid couplers designed to facilitate the continued development of high-frequency
wireless systems in industrial, automotive, communications and telemetry.
A hybrid coupler is a special four-port directional coupler that splits an input signal into two equal amplitude 3dB output
signals that are 90° out of phase. Many hybrid couplers also support performance monitoring and the ability to inject a
signal without disrupting the original signal.
Using proven multilayer thin film technology, Kyocera AVX's new DB0402 3dB 90° hybrid coupler delivers excellent
high-frequency performance in the microwave and RF bands from 3,000 to 4,100 MHz and supports rapid adjustment
of RF parameters. Its compact and rugged structure measures only 0.040 inches by 0.023 inches by 0.014 inches
(length by width by height, tolerance ±0.002 inches), which can save circuit board space; the lead-free nickel termination
is compatible with reflow soldering, wave soldering, vapor phase soldering and hand soldering techniques, suitable for
reliable automated assembly.
This series of products also features high power handling capability (continuous 1W), low insertion loss (typical value
-0.5dB, maximum value -0.8dB), high isolation, excellent amplitude and phase balance (typical values 0.6dB and 2°,
respectively, maximum values 1.2dB and 5°, respectively), temperature stability, improved linearity, low parasitic effects,
high batch consistency, excellent solderability, reflow self-alignment characteristics, and effective heat dissipation.
Currently, the series offers four typical operating frequency bands: 3,200MHz, 3,500MHz, 3,700MHz and 3,800MHz,
with a nominal impedance of 50Ω and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The products comply with
the requirements of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and RoHS, are produced in ISO 9001 certified
factories, and are packaged in tape and reel for easy automated assembly.
This series of products is suitable for a variety of application scenarios in the fields of industry, automobiles,
communications and telemetry, including base stations, wireless LANs, mobile communication systems, 4G/5G/6G LTE
infrastructure, satellite TV receivers, global positioning systems (GPS), RF balanced amplifiers, signal distribution,
high-power radio equipment, vehicle positioning systems and other high-frequency wireless systems.
